Catherine Quick

Curriculum Director

Catherine Quick holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Mary Baldwin University. Catherine has over eighteen years of teaching and curriculum experience. Previously, she was a classroom teacher for nine years at a charter school in Durham and has been the Curriculum Director at ACS for the past four years. She has experience with the implementation of Project Based Learning, Responsive Classroom, Guided Reading, Reading and Writing Workshop, and Math Workshop. She has also been taking the LETRS training, so she can broaden her knowledge with the Science of Reading. She has been a classroom teacher for PK - Third Grade, in addition to being a beginning teacher mentor and EC Facilitator assistant. Catherine believes in the importance of building a school community, where students and staff are given the tools to become lifelong learners.

Catherine lives in Durham with her husband and two sons, Christian and Andrew. While not in school, Catherine enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons, and the family dog, Scout. She loves playing tennis and has captained several USTA tennis teams. She loves being part of the Alamance Community School family!
